Cherished Dreams

Good Tuesday morning all!
'All That Glitters' is this month's Fan Club theme at Splitcoast Stampers and if you haven't guessed yet, I love SPARKLE! So I decided to get 'dirty', I've never participated in the "Dare to get Dirty' challenges, so this was especially fun!
I started with a black cs base. I matted a dp panel to white cs, folded one corner up and added a black rhinestone. I took a big ol' Heide Swapp flower, folded and glued it in half and added some black rhinestones and Stickle spots. I attached my stamped image to the center and adhered it to the dp panel. I added some more rhinestones, Stickles, my sentiment and ribbon.

Recipe
Stamps: Dreams du Jour, Baroque Motifs SU
Paper: black, white, bella rose dp
Ink: black, certainly celery, rose red
Extras: rhinestones, Stickles, ribbon, dimensionals, flower Heide Swapp

Sunday was Featured Stamper day at SCS, and the lucky lady was the very talented 'Kokirose', another one of my faves whose gallery just ROCKS! I chose to case her 'Thinking of You' card which features one of my fave color combos- pink and brown. This was also the combo I needed for the 'Verve Project Parade Challenge' so... two birds with one stone!
The rose is an image I stamped, colored and cut some time ago. I stamped Baroque Motifs in white craft ink to the choc. chip panel for my bg. My sentiment was stamped in black Archival Ink and punched out with a small oval punch. I faux stitched around it using a paper piercer and white gel pen. (I don't get along very well with sewing machines)!
Okay, time for some last minute school shopping, and hopefully I'll be able to get in today's color challenge at SCS- rose red, basic black and kraft! Thanks so much for stopping by, I always love when you do! Keep smiling a lot!! :):)

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubber Stampede, Studio G, Stampin' Up!
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Choc. chip, white
Ink: white craft, black, versa mark
Extras: brads, gold ep, ribbon, dimensionals, oval punch, paper piercer, white gel pen, ticket corner punch

Happy Haunting!

Hi guys, and happy Sunday evening!
Looking at my last post I realize I haven't posted since last Saturday! It's been one of those downer weeks- A little family stress, feeling overwhelmed with things. Trying to prepare for back to school and back to work, seasons changing- CHANGE, that's what it is- I don't like it!! Even good change is hard for me to get used to.
So when I saw the color challenge over at Our Creative Corner, which are some pretty fall colors, I thought maybe I could work on getting some of my mojo back, try to chill out about- CHANGES, and go with the flow. The challenge colors are Ruby Red, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I thought maybe a Halloween card might be fun for that.
I just bought these cute Halloween stamps from Inkadinkado and I was dying to play with them! It took me a long while to get it done, ya know, stale mojo- but I did it! I also used Julee Tilman's Monday Mojo sketch to help me along. I love her sketches and her work, she is one very talented Lady!!
Well, I'm off to catch up on some challenges I've missed and try to keep the flow going. Talk to ya soon, and thanks for stopping by, I really love when you do! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Paper: Choc. Chip, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, White
Ink: black, pumpkin pie, choc. chip
Extras: ribbon, dimensionals, Stickles, chalk, oval punch

Inspired Kindness

Happy Saturday evening!
Today was fun, it's always fun when Pam is involved! Pam lives 3 houses down, she's hopelessly addicted to stamping, as am I, and we are both Stampin' Up! dems, actually, she's my up line! She came over today to play, and we're trying to put together some projects for card classes, I say TRYING because we do more talking and laughing than actual creating! Anyway, she brought over some toys that I don't have yet, one of them being this adorable Hostess Set- Window Dressing. So I stamped some images to play with and came up with this cute little card for today's 'Inspiration Challenge' at SCS. The inspiration for today were some really cute swimsuits from the Athleta Swimwear Collection. Here is the one that I chose.
It reminded me of the new Bella Rose dp from SU which I just happened to be working with for the sketch challenge over at Our Creative Corner! So I added a scalloped edge on my Choc. Chip card stock to represent the bottom flow of the skirt, and some red ribbon on top. In this photo the white cs blends into the background of my blog, but hopefully you get the idea!

Recipe:
Stamps: Window Dressing, Heard from the Heart- both SU
Paper: white Choc. Chip, Bella Rose dp
Ink: black, close to cocoa, rose red, apricot appeal, lovely lilac, always artichoke
Extras: ribbon and dimensionals

I hope you all have a peaceful evening, and keep smiling a lot! :)

Warm Hearts

Hi and happy Friday everyone!!
Today's challenge at SCS is Limited supplies- 'Think Snowman', which is pretty cool, get it, "cool".... I know, give it up Denise... anyway, it's pretty cool because one of my favorite stamps is this cute little guy! I don't know why, but I just love him, and I'm so glad we got to hang out a little while in August together!
For the green panel I stamped a snowflake with Versa Mark ink, chalked the edges and added some clear gems to the snowflake centers. The cut out sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark ink on red card stock and embossed with 'white diamond' embossing powder and a heat tool.

Recipe:
Stamps- Holly Berry House-snowman, PSX- "warm Hearts" sentiment & snowflake
Paper- White, Riding hood Red, Kiwi Kiss- SU
Ink- Versa Mark, black
Extras- gems, embossing powder, dimensionals, markers, chalk, Stickles, oval cutter

Okay, my Olivia wants me to watch a movie with her, so that's it for now! Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to smile a lot today! :):)

Hugs,
Denise

SC189 Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday!
My card for today is from the sketch challenge at SCS. I have been loving using my two fave stamp sets together lately, Bloomin' Beautiful and Dreams du Jour. So I used them again for today's card.

I started with a white card stock base. I sponged a pink panel and matted it with dp. I attached my ribbon and adhered panel to base. I stamped my rose 3 times on white cs, colored and cut them out. I stamped my 'Love you' stamp 2 times, colored and cut it out too. I cut out the flower from one 'Love you', and adhered it to the other with dimensionals. I added my stamped images, buttons, gems and my sentiment to the card. I also added some Stickles for sparkle of course!
Recipe:

Stamps: Stampin' Up!
Paper: white, pink pirouette, choc. chip, Bella Rose dp- all Stampin' Up!
Ink: black, pretty in pink, rose red, mellow moss
Extras Stickles, buttons, gems, ribbon, dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by, and your comments really make my day!! Keep smiling a lot! :):)

Silhouette Cherish

Good Tuesday morning friends!
Today's color challenge at SCS is 'taken with teal, elegant eggplant, and old olive'. I combined this with another anni-VERVE-sary sketch and came up with this!

I love this Garden Silhouette stamp! I paper pieced the flowers and leaves, cut the circles with a circle cutter, and added some Stickles for sparkle. I wanted to add some veins in the leaves with marker and I forgot, that will add some nice detail!

Well, off to grocery shop, get some more laundry done and come back to play! Thanks so much for stopping by, and keep smiling lot!::)

Hugs,
Denise

AVS05 Wonderful

Guess what guys- I'm running out of steam. I don't think I'm gonna make my 12 cards tonight, but I'm having a piece of chocolate for good trying!! Theses Anni-VERVE-sary sketches are so awesome and fun-- "Thanks Julee!"
I love my 'Dress up Annie', she's so fun to paper piece, and the new Stampn' Up! Bella Rose dp is perfect for her!!
Well, I guess I'll call it a night- thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to smile a lot! :):)

Okay, here is #2 for my anni-VERVE-sary catch-up challenge!

I've got another load of laundry to do, then back to 'catching-up'!

On your mark, get set, GO!!

Okay, so I miss Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch, it's been on hold for a couple weeks while the Anni-VERVE-sary celebration is on. I don't own any Verve stamps, but the more see, the more I LOVE! So, I decided to challenge myself to catch-up on the sketches. There are 12 in all, and tomorrow is the deadline- no promises- here is #1! Be back soon!

'Friends' FS79

Hi guys, and happy Sunday evening!
Just a quick post for tonight. I wanted to share my card for the SCS's Featured Stamper challenge. This week's FS is blondie090277 aka: Kim, who has one fabulous gallery! I chose Kim's card, 'Cupcake'. I love the colors and design she used so pretty much kept that the same, but you have to change at least 2 things on the FS's original card, so I didn't round my corners, I used a different stamp and dp, my card is a rectangle not a square, and I did no stitching on my card.

Kim's card has a whole lot more yummy details in it, but I kept mine pretty simple, I like how it turned out! Thanks Kim, for some beautiful inspiration, and thank YOU so much for stopping by my place! Don't forget to keep smiling a lot :):)

IC140 'Everything'

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Today's card is another challenge combo. I used Jen del Muro's 'sketch for you to try',

and I know I will be using it again, it's so fun! I combined that with SCS's inspiration challenge, Ophra's Table,

I love the cool patterns and details in this photo! I tend to stay with softer colors in most of my projects, but these colors really rock together, and it took me out of my comfort zone, which is one reason why I love challenges so much!!

I started with a Taken with Teal card stock base and stamped my background with Teal ink. I added a strip of Rose Red cs on the side. I cut a circle of white cs and adhered it to my card. I stamped my Always heart on white cs twice with Teal ink and colored in some areas with Rose Red. I cut out one of the images and layered it on the other with dimensionals, matted the panel with Rose Red cs, added the sentiments and adhered it to my card. I stamped my cool new Inkadinkado Flowers stamp on white cs with Rose Red ink, colored in some areas with Teal, cut out the image and attached it to my card with dimensionals. Then I added lots of Stickles and gems all over!

I gotta say that I really miss my camera. Scanning cards and projects to upload just doesn't look the same as a nice photo. But as I've said before, I'm definitely grateful for what I have, and I really shouldn't complain. My life is filled with wonderful blessings, and the most cherished ones are not material!

I hope you all have a great week end, and thanks so much for stopping by! Keep Smiling a lot too! :):)

Dreams in Bloom

Hi everyone, happy Thursday evening!
First I have a late Color Throwdown challenge, (last week's Almost Amethyst, Basic Black, Certainly Celery) Great colors!

I started with a black card stock base and added a strip of amethyst and a scalloped strip of celery over that. Then I stamped my Bloomin' Beautiful flowers twice on amethyst cs, and once on celery cs. I cut and paper pieced them, layering sections with dimensionals. I did some shading with the same colors of inks along with some Brilliant Blue in the flowers. I also added white gel pen to the flower centers and Stickles for sparkle. I adhered my flowers with dimensionals to a square white panel that I pierced. I stamped 'Bloom' on white cs, cut it to size, scalloped and pierced edges, matted that with amethyst and adhered it to my card. I finished it off with some little flowers I had in my stash.

My next card is from Tuesday's SCS Color Challenge "Farewell In-Colors", and I'm really gonna miss them. I stocked up on them so I'll have them for a long time!!
I used Purely pomegranate for my card base. I stamped a Blue Bayou panel with Fresh Cuts, and adhered that to my base. I stamped my 'Dreams du Jour' on white cs and colored it with Purely pomegranate and Certainly Celery inks and a blender pen. I added white gel pen and Stickles. I adhered that to a Blue Bayou panel and added that to a Soft Sky panel matted with Purely Pomegranate. I added ribbon to the bottom of that and adhered it to my card with dimensioals. I finished it off with the butterfly stamped in black ink on pomegranate cs.
I have to say that I'm not thrilled with how the pics came out, because my camera died and I had to use my scanner to upload. But that's okay, if that's one of my biggest problems today, I'll take it, no problem!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and keep smiling a lot! :):)

IC139 You're Sweet

Hello Everyone, and happy Saturday!
Today's inspiration challenge at SCS is Pink 'Lemonade Bags', I used this one: I love the colors and design on this bag.
I started with a bashful blue card stock base. Then I cut a white panel and scalloped the bottom with my corner punch. I added bashful blue dps, a strip of white cs and ribbon and adhered that to the base. I stamped the 'so many scallops' flower in Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out with my scallop punch, then I stamped my 'Boho Backgrounds' medallion once in choc.chip an once in bashful blue inks, punched out center flowers, layered them and attached them with a pearl brad. I stamped flourishes and sentiments, then attached the flower with dimensionals.
This is also the sketch for Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Challenge.

Well, summer school is over, and I'm off until Aug. 28th. It's nice to get a break from the grind. It's been a rough couple of weeks, a roller coaster ride actually. My daughter, Ashley, found out that she was pregnant, but when we went for the ultrasound to pin-point how many weeks she was (10 1/2), the baby had no heartbeat. I saw MY baby's heart break, and mine broke too:( She's okay physically, but she's going through the grieving process, which is exactly what she's supposed to be doing.
My BFFs and I are kidnapping her tomorrow- she needs some time with the girls. I was really angry when I first saw her pain, but trying to see the good in this I realize how grateful I am that I saw how happy she was, and I shared that with her. I'm grateful for being a gramma for a brief moment, and now we have another Angel up there on our side.
Well, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week end, and keep smiling a lot! :):)
